Locallista is the trusted directory for expats, connecting them with top-rated local service providers. Built by expats for expats, we’ve grown rapidly across Lisbon and Barcelona and are preparing to expand to dozens of cities worldwide. We stand for trust, quality, and verified community recommendations - no ads, no pay-to-play.
We’re a young, fast-moving startup with a multicultural, multinational team that thrives on collaboration, clarity, and impact. If you’re looking for a dynamic environment where things move quickly and everyone makes a difference, you’ll fit right in.
We’re looking for a strong, hands-on Market Lead to take full ownership of Locallista’s operations in Spain, covering Barcelona, Madrid, and future cities as we expand.
In this roll you will be leading an entire country, where different cities are at different stages of growth and maturity. Barcelona is currently our most active Spanish market, while Madrid is in earlier stages, requiring different strategies and operational focus. Over time, we expect to expand to additional Spanish cities, and you’ll be in charge of shaping and leading that growth.
You’ll be responsible for driving Locallista’s success in Spain, with a mission to scale our presence, deepen community trust, and ensure both user and provider experiences meet the highest standards.
This includes:
You’ll operate as an independent leader, with full ownership of results and a direct line to the founding team. This role is ideal for someone who’s strategic and resourceful, able to manage complexity across multiple markets, and excited to get hands-on to make things happen.
As general manager for Spain, you are the owner of the market’s success, from performance and growth to quality and brand presence.
Run your market as a business unit
Take ownership of local budgets, manage local partnerships, and shaping priorities for long-term growth. Accountable for the performance and identify growth opportunities. Own your KPIs, analyze results, and take actions to accelerate impact.
Community marketing
Build relationships with local ambassadors and community leaders and the expats community as a whole. Engage with expat groups, trusted locals, and influential figures to grow our presence and brand awareness organically. Form relevant partnerships and collaborations.
Ensure exceptional experience for both users and providers
Monitor feedback and work closely with the global teams to improve tools, processes, and communications.
Support the business enrollment effort
While day-to-day outreach and onboarding will primarily be handled by our sales team, you’ll still play an important role in overseeing the process and stepping in where needed—especially during key moments or when market-specific insights are required.
As the local market lead, you’ll help ensure the business pipeline aligns with user needs and category priorities, even if your direct involvement is lower in volume.
